In order to avoid a mechanical defect of the device, we recommend paying particular attention to the maintenance and repair of the Mr Beam. We provide all the information for this in our quick start guide , in our operating instructions and online in our knowledge database .
Repair service for your Mr Beam!
A repair is necessary if there is a mechanical or software defect on the Mr Beam that cannot be remedied by remote diagnosis and by the Mr Beam Support . If there is a problem with the device, our support staff will try to find a solution first without having to send the device to us. Our goal is to be able to offer customers fast, efficient and pragmatic solutions so that the Mr Beam can be put back into operation as soon as possible.
Your Mr Beam needs spare parts? - No problem!
However, should a spare part be necessary or a wear part of the Mr Beam needs to be replaced, we offer our customers pragmatic and quick solutions in the form of a price list if a defective component needs to be replaced.
The following components are listed as wearing parts that have to be replaced on the Mr Beam from time to time: pre-filter & main filter , gas pressure springs , laser head fans for the dreamcut or the [S] head .
Info: Wearing parts are excluded from the guarantee because their service life depends on the user and the intensity of use. Only in the case of production errors or verifiable defects will we replace wearing parts at our expense.
Repair prices
Overview of the prices of spare parts. All prices listed are net prices.
Important: We carry out repairs up to 100 euros without a cost estimate so that you can quickly start lasering with your Mr Beam again. If you still need a cost estimate, please note this directly in the support ticket.
We charge €60.00 per hour of work in addition to the spare parts required. Billing is done every half hour. If it is not a warranty repair, return shipping will be charged if you request a shipping label from us via our returns portal. The cost for a Mr Beam per shipping route is €15.00. Shipping for small parts (e.g. laser head) is charged at €5.00.
Please ensure that your Mr Beam is sent in the transport packaging.

solutions to your problem
Possible sources of error and initial solutions as well as comprehensive information on which material Mr Beam can process are available in our knowledge database . Thanks to our many years of experience with the device and the exchange with our customers, we have a solid basis and the certainty of which defects can (accidentally) happen and what they look like.
Avoid common sources of error
For example, we always emphasize to carefully loosen the black clip on the laser head (max. 2 mm) when the ribbon cable is to be unplugged and to lock the clip when the ribbon cable is plugged in so that it is fixed and not while the axis is being moved falls on the laser head. If this procedure is not carried out, but the cable is pulled out of the laser head without opening, the sensitive contacts on the ribbon cable will be visibly damaged.

How do I prepare the device for shipping?

If a repair is necessary, the Mr Beam must be sent in with the laser head but without the key, cable or other parts. The laser head must be removed for the return. You can find brief instructions on how to do this here . Please make sure that the Mr Beam is disconnected from the mains during the entire process!

How do I pack my device for shipping?

Please only use the original box and the original buffer material for shipping the Mr Beam to avoid damage. We cannot accept other or damaged packaging. If you have disposed of the cardboard including the buffer material, you can order a replacement box from our Mr Beam Shop to ensure safe shipping of the Mr Beam: https://www.mr-beam.org/products/mr-beam-ersatz-packaging

What happens if further damage is discovered on the device?

If further damage to the device/laser head is discovered during the repair that is not covered by the warranty or guarantee, the customer will receive a cost estimate for the repair if the total bill is more than 100 euros . The device will only be repaired after the customer has approved the cost estimate. All necessary repairs, which are less than 100 euros , are carried out without consultation and the customer is billed in order to be able to guarantee a timely repair and a speedy return shipment.

Will the device be cleaned during the repair?

The device is not cleaned during a repair , only the particles that have collected inside the Mr Beam during transport are removed so that we can check the functionality of the device and the individual components and repair the defect. Please ensure that the device is as clean as possible before sending it in so that we can start checking the device as soon as it arrives at our workshop.
If cleaning is necessary to determine the defect upon arrival of the device and to check its functionality, we reserve the right to charge 25 euros for the additional cleaning of particularly dirty devices.
If cleaning of the device or the laser head is also required, we offer these services separately. These services can be booked via our shop and are then noted in the system: small inspection , large inspection, professional laser head cleaning .

How long does it take to repair?

With return shipping, a repair within Germany takes 5 working days. Repairs usually take a maximum of two working days in our workshop.
If we provide a cost estimate for the repair, the repair time may be delayed because it still has to be approved by you. Unfortunately, we can't start the repair sooner.

Will I be offered a replacement device during this time?

We do not offer a replacement device for the time of the repair. The shipping time overlaps with the repair time, as our workshop processes all devices within one, maximum two working days and then sends them back to the customer directly via DHL. However, if you urgently need a device, you can also use our rental service .

What about the guarantee and warranty?

The guarantee/guarantee only covers repairs that are caused by possible device errors. We have to charge for repairs caused by handling errors or unintentional damage by the customer - as this requires us to use additional and unscheduled labor and spare parts.
If the damage or defect can be proven to be the result of accidental damage or a handling error, we reserve the right to charge the shipping costs for (return shipping), even if the customer has previously been sent a return label to send in the device and sent it to the customer was made available.
